Harald Smykla's 'Perfect Square Day' Sat 14 January 2006, 12 noon - 4pm & 6.30 - 8pm Two performances on the 16384th day of the artist's lifeOn January 14th 2006, between 12 noon and 4pm, Coleman will host the Mapping Bureau for 2-to-the-power-of-14:A North Southwark Chess Pilgrimage. During this time, Harald Smykla and Eden Solomon will embark on a 13 km long walk, passing 'chesspiece sites', such as a Pawnbroker's (SE15),Bishop's Mead (SE5), Knight's Walk (SE11), Elephant & Castle (SE1), Queen's Road and King's Grove (SE15).
This route constitutes a drawn line walked in cityscape .The walkers will visually document their journey, mainly through co-authored drawings. These and other experiential data will be conveyed to Coleman via mobile phone, fax or email. Mapping Bureau staff will process & display received information and function as a general link between the public and the walkers.
