"IST DAS FISCHLI WEISS?"

Coinciding with the first UK retrospective of Swiss artists Peter Fischli and David Weiss at the Tate Modern the nearby independent Coleman Project Space hosts  "IST DAS FISCHLI WEISS?".

Klodin Erb and Eliane Rutishauser unmask/expose today’s information society through their individual and collaborative projects. Turning the concept of ‘the expert’ on its head, they plunder the ‘store’ of art history, to create complex works that play with a sense of being partially informed.  

In this joint venture, curated by Urs Küenzi, Erb and Rutishauser assume informal authorship of a series of photographs they have ‘directed’ the participating Switzerland-based artists to make in response to two films –'Der gerinsgte Widerstand’ and ‘Der gerechte Weg’ – created by Swiss artist duo Peter Fischli and David Weiss. As the boundaries between collective memory and appropriation blur with the traditional roles of the project space and the practitioners forming a partial eclipse, we are left asking ; 'just who is influencing whom?’
