The
Band of Nod was formed in 1999 in East London. Based on an eccentric
local tradition, membership of the band is open to anyone and its
activities are built on five fundamental foundations.

The
Procession. The band will, at given times, march or walk the
streets and be visible to the general public.

The
Proclamation. The band will design and produce material with
which to advertise their presence and activities.

The
Practice. The band will meet in order to socialise and rehearse
various musical and performance based activities.

The
Pantominesque. The band will make and decorate its own costumes,
masks, banners and instruments.

The
Performance. The band will perform in public through either
invitation or intervention.
